Working And Living Are Two Different Things, Don T Blur Them Together!

Posted on December 10, 2008 by Elma

When you re at home all the time, people have a way of giving you everything to do, with no regard for your job. It can be very hard indeed to keep your family life separate from your business when you work at home -- in fact, this is one of the most common reasons home businesses fail, and their owners come away all too glad to get back to the corporate grindstone. If you don t want to be driven away from home business, here s what you need to do to keep your family at bay. Make a schedule for when you re going to work and when you re not, and stick to it. This doesn t have to be inflexible -- it s very silly to only work nine to five every day, for example -- but it still really needs to be there. Without a plan, you re inevitably going to go too far one way or the other, and either work far too much or nowhere near enough. You might find it best to a new plan at the start of each month or week, so that you can still respond to changes in circumstances. Yes, I know it can be difficult to draw clear lines between family time and work time, especially if your family is around for some of the...

Effective Arthritis Pain Relief Is Key To Staying Active

Posted on October 9, 2008 by Lawrence

As Americans get older, they find themselves walking just a little slower, running almost never and aching a lot. Known to the medical profession as osteoarthritis, this joint-stiffening indicator of age is keeping many people from the activities they love: running, gardening and even playing with the grandchildren. Medical professionals say there are many things to do that help slow this progressive disease or at least make it easier to bear. One is to apply Celadrin, an anti-inflammatory ingredient. Another aid to aching joints is menthol, a topical analgesic or pain reliever. Now an old favorite is being used in the fight against osteoarthritis: Frankincense. Known today as Boswellia Serrata, Frankincense dates back to the dawn of history. In fact, it was once used as a soothing balm and makeup by the Pharaohs. Mosaic Nutraceuticals, a Dallas-based company, has combined all three of these compounds - Celadrin, menthol and Frankincense - into a topical ointment designed to treat the aches and pains of osteoarthritis.

Two Simple Things You Can Do Today To Exude Confidence

Posted on September 2, 2008 by Alvin

one resounding response I heard was More confidence. Now I m sure men feel this way, too. It s just that as women we seem to more openly admit it and, frankly, sometimes, we re our own worst enemy. Here s an example. Just recently I read an article with the headline Female Judge: I m Still Learning. It turns out that after 215 years a woman has finally been appointed a federal judge in Richmond, VA. Good for her. But, here s what bothered me: Why did she say to the reporter I m still learning what it s going to be like. It never occurred to me that I would end up being a judge . These words don t exude confidence that she knows what she s doing, which is especially important in such a public role. And it ended up in the headline. Unfortunately, the article didn t contain any more quotes that helped her regain ground. Feeling more confident is ultimately an inside job, which often requires reflecting on our past, un-sticking self-limiting beliefs, and replacing old tapes with healthier ones. It s a life-long process and if you haven t gotten started, I suggest you get going. But, right now, I...
